Ms. Tyre's English 9 Homework for Thursday, June 5: for all students

Romeo and Juliet : Act 4, scene 2 : Choose one of the following  three questions and follow the instructions.  You should be writing a well-developed paragraph at least, or two. It should be word-processed and edited carefully.

1) Discuss whether or not you think Capulet really believes Juliet's sudden change of heart to be "ever ruled" by him.  Consider whether or not the exchange between father and daughter adds anything to your knowledge of either of the two characters.  In your opinion, is it necessary for Juliet to lie to her father?

                               OR

2) If you could speak to Capulet at this point about his treatment of his daughter, what would you say to him?  Write a magazine article using this scene as a basis for outlining the way fathers should treat their daughters.  Address you article to present-day parents.

                             OR

3) Using Juliet as an example, write an advice column for teens in which you outline the consequences of telling lies.

                             And

4) Make sure you have completed all your Questions for Act 4, scene 2 (where we left off).
