English 12 Homework for Monday, March 6:

1. Read "Progress" by Alan Lightman, as many times as you need to.   

a) Look up words that you don't know. Put them in your Glossary... and learn to use them.

b) Write a developed paragraph explaining the what the word "Progress" means to you. Include examples in your work. 1.5 pages, 1.5 spacing.

c )Look up the story lines of the "The Island of Dr. Moreau," "Frankenstein," "Waldon," and "White Noise," that are referred to in the article. Know the plots and characters-  and identify the common theme in them.

d )Prepare a brief rebuttal to one of the arguments Lightman offers in support of his thesis. **Use a concrete fact or personal experience to make your rebuttal more convincing.
