Ms. Tyre's English 9 Homework: Tuesday 13th to Tuesday 21st:
1. You are working with your poetry partner on your 14 line thematic poem that is due next Tuesday:

• It will incorporate metaphor, simile and personification. One element may be more prevalent than the others.
• It will not be a cliche: it will be thoughtful, original, and interesting.
• It will be word-processed on your word document so that it is pleasant to look at and read projected on the board and read by the class from their desks.
• It will be accompanied by a poster that illustrates its central theme and what you are saying about it.  This poster should incorporate colour in a meaningful way. This poster should be large enough to be comfortably viewed from all areas of the classroom.  
  
  You will read your poem and explain the poster illustration in terms of the theme in your poem.
