Ms. Tyre's English 9 Homework that is due Monday, May 27:

1. Finish Reading Act 1, scene 5.
2. Finish all Questions for Act 1, scene 5 and any others you have not completed.
3. Finish Reflection on who you believe is the better parent. It does not need to be word-processed, but you must always care about your organization of ideas and good sentence structures. Also try to incorporate a direct reference or two from the text into your work. See below for proper style:
  •  example: Capulet tells Tybalt he is "a saucy boy" when Tybalt demands that Capulet throw Romeo out of the party (I, 5, 84).
  •  example: Mercutio rants on about Queen Mab, who runs "over men's noses as they lie asleep" causing them to dream (I, 4, 58).
  • example: When Romeo first lays eyes on Juliet at her party, he describes her as "a rich jewel in an Ethiop's ear" (I, 5, 46).
 4. Read the Chorus Sonnet on page 79 that introduces Act 2. Read the Glossary also, so that you understand it.
5. Keep up with "Romeo and Love" handout, and create Headlines for the rest of Act 1.
