1. Start reading Chapter 1 of To Kill a Mockingbird, to page 6 "That was the summer Dill came to us." Write down all the words you don't know, look up and write down their definitions, and create a sentence to show your understanding. See below for format. Bring it with you tomorrow so I may see it before you start working on your essay.

Format is:

Word: part of speech (noun, adjective, verb, adverb)
Definition: write out the definition that best defines the word in its context.
Sentence: use it in a sentence that you create.
