Ms. Tyre's English 9 Homework for Thursday, May 15:

1. A Block: We have finished Act 1, scene i: Please do questions 1-4 on the first handout of questions. Then do the 8 questions on the second handout.  Please write in full sentences and develop your answers. You can include quotes (references from the text). 

For example: Romeo is heartbroken that the girl he loves does not love him back. He describes love as "a choking gall" that makes it hard for him to breathe. He wants her to let "Cupid's arrow" pierce her so that she will fall in love him: but she won't.

2. B Block: We will finish Act 1, scene 1 tomorrow, but you can attempt to read it using the glossary in your Orange text.  We will go over the oxymoron's Romeo uses to describe love, and the metaphors (Love is a .....).  Please reread all of this and to the end of the scene and come prepared to discuss it.  Try going on Shakespeare Navigator for explanation.
