English 10 Homework for Thursday, Dec. 10:
C Block: Let's start filling the box with food!
1. B and C Blocks: You are doing the S.I.F.T. of the poem "Ozymandias".
a. Read the poem as many times as you need to, to get the meaning of the poem, and the flow of the writing.
b. Look up words that you don't know- and write them down.
c. Use your handout "Poetic Devices and Figurative Language" to help you.
d. What is the "mood" of the poem? Look up mood words and print out a good page of them.
e. Using your handout "Poetic Devices and Figurative Language", decide what type of poem it is.
f. Theme: What truth or insight into life does this poem show us?
*Bring your work for the S.I.F.T., tomorrow, so if you finish early, you can work on the S.I.F.T. We will go over it together on Friday.
For Monday: Sentence-by-sentence revision of your Orwell, Crane, Plato, essay is due.
