English 9 Homework for Monday, Oct. 19:

1. Any work that is due must come in on Monday. No later.

2. House of the Scorpion: do a good job of the Pre-research. We will share it on Monday. 

3. Also, come with some good examples of metaphors and similes. Be prepared to explain them - at least 3 for each, and not the examples below.

ie. metaphor 1: The middle of the Pacific Ocean is a dragon that is hard to tame.     

ie. metaphor 2: My English teacher is a dictionary of esoteric words.

ie. simile 1: Your face is like book that reads of strange matters.

ie. simile 2: His words fell soft, like snow on the ground.
