English 9 Homework for Tuesday, Oct. 13:

1. Any work that you have not handed in is due on Tuesday at the beginning of the block. 

2. Update your Glossary of words and terms. I will have you write a paragraph using some of them, next week.

3. Essay Revisions: Rewrite your essay and improve it in all the ways you need to.  This will come in next Thursday. Underline all the things you changed - and staple the Original essay underneath the revised one.

4. Short Story: "A Christmas Memory" by Truman Capote:  Read the story carefully and more than once. Find 5 examples of vivid imagery in the story: for each of them, write out the image, identify what kind of imagery is being used, and then explain it. See below.

a. Write out the full image from the text.

b. Identify what kind of image it is: sight, taste, smell, sound or touch.  

c. Explain the image in the context of the story.
