English 11 Homework for Monday and Tuesday May 9, 10, 11:

1. Poetry: "The Unknown Citizen" and "Departmental."  Read these poems several times.  Consider the format of each poem. Why are they formatted this way? How does it illuminate something important to our understanding of the poem? 

Do a thorough S.I.F.T of each by Monday. These S.I.F.T.s require an excellent Theme Paragraph. 

Monday's Class: Work on the ideas/bullets of synthesis today in class and tonight. 

Tuesday's and Wednesday's Class: You will continue working on your synthesis and outline in class. Some of you will be ready to start writing tomorrow.

Vocabulary:  You need the vocabulary for all this. Take these from the board, but also add others of your own.
