English 12 Homework for Thursday and Friday, and Monday.  Also, homework for the Weekend for both English 12 - and English 11.

**I will be here Thursday and Friday at 7:30am  and Lunchtime for you.

12s: You are working on the poems,  "The Second Coming," and "Goya's Greatest Scenes". Always read a poem several times in order to understand it. It takes time to understand.

Each poem must have  a) a glossary of terms/definitions, b) a well-developed S.I.F.T analysis, c) a developed paragraph showing your understanding of the poem.

Research: To understand"Goya's Greatest Scenes," you need to look at Goya's sketches of war, in 1808, when the French (Bonapart) invaded Spain. Go to the website below to see the scenes of war Goya sketched. I warn you, they are disturbing, and they are true. He sketched what he saw. www.richarharrisartcollection.com/portfolio-view/francisco-goya-2/

Go back to the poem and consider how Ferlinghetti uses Goya's scenes to criticize our modern times and the "disasters" we have created.

12s: Work on your bullets of synthesis for "The Second Coming" and  "Goya's Greatest Scenes. *You will write this essay in class, Wednesday, Thursday, then Monday and Tuesday.

You will not write over the weekend on the essay; however, you will do the Homework below.
