English 10 Homework for January 5, 2015:

1. Go to the following website: www.booktrust.org.uk/books/teenagers/writing-tips/tips-for-writing-book-reviews

Read this carefully, print it out and keep it beside you as you read the novel. Use it as a guide to write your review. Take down ideas as you read the novel so you have them to refer to when you write your review. Your review will be an organized multi-paragraph assignment where you evaluate the novel.

1. Mister Pip: Read this novel over the winter break. Do not rush this reading, but savour it.

2) After you have finished reading, write a review of the novel, following the website criteria.

3) You can also start thinking about the things you could write about yourself on the Provincial Exam: an event, something you learned that is important to you, adapting to something, an influential person in your life, when something went wrong, an accomplishment, importance of family, someone or something that has helped shape you, creating a better world.....

AND HAVE A GREAT WINTER BREAK!!
