English 11 Homework for Tuesday, Feb.  9:

1. Short Story and Article Synthesis: Read "The Pedestrian" by Ray Bradbury, then read Anna Toth's article from the Richmond Review, "Vonnugut's Dystopia May Not Be So Far Off."

 After reading them both two or three times, do a synthesis of the two texts in point form.

A synthesis is bringing two or more texts together and finding similarities and differences in them. What elements or ideas in the "The Pedestrian" are similar in Toth's article. What do they show about society and where it is going? Spend the time to do it well, and bring your work to class on Tuesday. Be thoughtful, and have 4 or 5 bullets for each.

* also know who Vonnegut is and what he writes so you do this well.
