1. B and D Blocks- "The Loons": Do questions 1 - 5 in paragraph form and attempt to integrate a direct reference or two from the story to help you describe and explain something.

Example of a paragraph with an integrated quote: 

In Margaret Laurence's short story "The Loons," the young Metis girl, Piquette, is hostile to the protagonist, Vanessa, because she  stereotypes her. Vanessa assumes that Piquette has a greater understanding of nature because she is an aboriginal, and, therefore, a "junior prophetess of the wilds" (179). However, Piquette is no more connected to nature than Vanessa. In fact, she knows little about nature, and too much about poverty and neglect.
