English 10 Homework for Wed. February 25:

1. Work on ideas for the "The Loons" essay. The question is: At the end of the short story, "The Loons," by Margaret Laurence, Vanesa, the narrator, says that only Piquette heard the cry of the loons.  What has Vanessa come to understand about Piquette's life, and the nature of prejudice"? 

This is a four to five paragraph essay. Be thinking and jotting down ideas for this essay. The packages that you made today are the only resources you have, and the story in The Storyteller anthology.  From these you will create an outline tomorrow in class. 

I recommend that you read the story again, before tomorrow.
