English 10 Homework for Thursday, Sept. 24:

1. Overviews: please have your parents photocopy the last segment of my Overview, and have them fill in the information I need. Please have these back to me by Monday. 

2. Revise your "Many Workman" analysis. Please read this blog entry carefully. 

A. In this second draft, do not include the modern example. Revise your paragraph so you focus only on the poem and what it teaches us about human nature. 

B. Also, try to integrate a phrase from the poem into one of your sentences: one that is appropriate for what you are saying.  

C. Do not use the pronouns "you" "I" "me".  

D. Also, you are writing this analysis for someone who has not read the poem, so you must write express your ideas in a way that makes sense to them.  

E. Also, your concluding sentence reminds the reader of the main point (what it teaches us about human nature).

Example of integrating a phrase into a sentence:  When the workmen "turned to behold their work," they were thrilled with their accomplishment. 

Please staple your revision (second draft) on top of your first draft. It is due tomorrow.
