English 10 Homework for Tonight and the next few days:

1. Personal Cave: This will take you a few days. Take the answers for F, G, and H that you wrote about yesterday, and apply them to yourself. I want you to use real personal examples, not vague, half thought-out ideas and examples. This is about you in your cave. Use the imagery and metaphors from the allegory to help you describe your life and your understanding of reality. Each question below needs considerable thought before you write. You are grappling with yourself : and each question requires a well-developed paragraph. Start tonight!!

f. What is the life you are living? Is it a true life? What is a true life? How do you know?

g. How do you confuse "shadows" with "reality"?  Use several personal examples, explaining them well.

h. What prevents you from seeing the truth, or makes you regard "shadow" as the "truth"?

Remember: These are not one sentence answers, but paragraphs that clearly show you are grappling with the ideas and yourself.

2. Election work: The issues we will talk about in class are on the board and below. You should take a photo of the list on the board, for the ongoing research you will do. Start searching and creating a document you can use.

The Issues are: Climate Change, the Refugee Crisis, Bill C-24, Keystone Pipeline, Bill C-51.
