The Oral Presentation is to engage the class in your Visual, by asking questions that help them interpret the Visual.  You will have have your own interpretation, but let the class play with it and interpret also.  I expect you to use colour, symbolically as well.

You should also be working on being well-spoken when you present.  Use appropriate diction and comportment (physical presence.)

English 10 Homework for Monday, Nov. 30:

1. Personal Essay Composition Due Monday: You are to write an essay in the 1st person point of view on the following Ministry of Education prompt:

"Our toughest struggles can be with ourselves"

You are writing about you, so you are in the first person point of view: "I" and "me" "my" etc.

This is a sincere, personal reflection, of 4 or 5 paragraphs, in an essay format, showing how "the toughest struggles can be with yourself," is true in your life.  You must use personal examples in order to show how this is true in your own life.

Format: As with all essays, you are writing for a complete stranger. The reader does not know you. You begin with an Introductory Paragraph of 3 or 4 sentences to set the essay up,  then you write 2 or more Body Paragraphs, in a sincere, engaging way,  showing examples of how you struggle with yourself.  These are important struggles that lead to understanding, maturity etc.  Show through examples and reflect on what these personal struggles teach you....

I suggest that you word-process this essay, as it will be much easier to revise as you go.  Do not print it out until you have made it the best you can be.  Have your Personal Edit Checklist with you so you are monitoring for you writing issues.

This is your first practice of this section of the Provincial English 10 Exam. You will also be practicing the Synthesis Essay for the exam.

Have an inspiring write!

You can certainly look at contemporary examples in the world, but you must use them carefully and synthesize with the novel.
